This work was created with multiple plates using collagraph, drypoint and etching; soap ground aquatint. This print is part of a larger ongoing series, printing various iterations of the text "heat wave" over and over as monoprints. Using this system as a way to questioning the language used to describe a short lived weather event. As heat waves grow in length of time and temperatures rise, the term seems irrelevant. I enjoy the way these prints when seen together create a trance, visualizing the repetitive and omnipresent events.
